A liberal religious voice in the Central Valley since 1953.

We will have two services, one at 9:30, the second at 11:00, from September 9, 2007 to May 11, 2008.

Until we get the new sanctuary built, it's the only way we can accommodate our increased attendance. On summer Sundays we will have a single service, at 10:00 am.

The Minister, Music director, Ushers, Greeters, Choir, Sunday School teachers, Child Care providers and many others will have to work harder and be more flexible than ever before. Please bear with us. Our old sanctuary is simply too small.

[Ed. Note - being Web Master, as opposed to helping out in other ways, does have its advantages. I don't have to maintain two sites.]

The sermon will be the same at each service. We only have enough volunteer Sunday School teachers for one session of classes, however, so until we get more volunteers, children at the 9:30 service will have supervised activities and crafts. Children at the 11:00 will have lessons. See the Children's Page for details.

Traffic Considerations

We hope the time between the two services - when the 9:30 people leave and the 11:00 people arrive - will not be "crunch" time. You can help by following a few simple suggestions. A three-minute detour may save you a $1,500 body shop bill. So:

  • Come in from the west - from Dale Road and Highway 99. Turn right into the main entrance of the asphalt parking lot.

  • Go out to the east - towards Carver Road and McHenry Blvd. Use the gravel loop, NOT the main entrance, and turn right.

  • Driving in the parking lot: Watch out for children. Most of the short ones dart when you least expect them to.

  • Walking in the parking lot: Hold hands and be careful.

Kiernan Avenue is a 55-mph State Highway. If you plan your route so you can turn right into the parking lot when you arrive and turn right out of the gravel loop when you leave, whichever service you attend, you will be safer and we will be happier.
