A liberal religious voice in the Central Valley since 1953.

November, 2011 to about January 15, 2012: Waiting for our interim minister. Two Starr King students will conduct three Sunday services each. Lay people will speak on the other Sundays. Our congregation has two UU ministers, and three non-UU members of the Interfaith Clergy Network have agreed to help if one of us has a crisis.

About January 15, 2012: our interim minister arrives. He/she will act as our minister while we search for a settled one. Interim ministers pledge not to try to become the settled minister, as they would have a home court advantage.

February, 2012 - Spring 2013: Our committee searches for a settled minister. When they find a candidate, we meet him/her and vote. (UU congregations vote on their ministers; we don't have a bishop who sends them out.)

Late summer 2013: The new settled minister arrives to begin work at UUFSC.

Note: The UUA has a "no-contact" policy for ministers who retire or change congregations. We are not supposed to discuss church business with Rev. Grace for a year after she leaves. This gives the interim minister a chance to work without feeling the "Ghost of Ministers Past" is watching him/her.
