Intergenerational Holiday Celebrations

Sacred Ground offered six intergenerational celebrations of Earth-based holidays in 2005 - 2006. They will meet on an irregular basis in the 2006 - 2007 church year. Please check the Calendar Page to see if they are celebrating something.

This is a sample of what we did last year:

March 23, 2006: - Ostara (vernal equinox). Spring is here, the Earth rejoices.

April 27, 2006: Beltane. Dance the Maypole and honor the fertility of the Earth.

June 22, 2006: - Litha (summer solstice). Honor the marriage of the Goddess and God and the first fruits of the harvest.

All of our celebrations follow the same schedule:
6:30 pm: Gather to set up an altar together.
7:00 pm: Ritual Celebration begins.
What to Bring: In general, if you would like to, you may bring altar items, percussion instruments and a special candle. Check the FocUUs (Our church newsletter) or this website closer to the date of the event for additional information and special items to bring.
Location: UUFSC - Johnson Room
Fee: $2 per person / $5 per family for each Celebration
Leader: Bernadette Burns.

Sacred Ground celebrations are open to members and non-members of the UUFSC.
