A liberal religious voice in the Central Valley since 1953.

[This is one of the status reports on our new classroom building. Fernando Ramirez, SCS, was marvelously conscientious about keeping us updated throughout the summer of 2010.]

In the past week and a half we have accomplished the following:

  • Survey/staking of site

  • Rough graded the site (including compaction testing)

  • Removal of two existing trees as well as clean-up of debris

  • Trimmed overhanging trees and brush on West side property line

  • Placed safety fence between existing facility and project

  • Re-staked/Survey for underground utilities

  • Installed septic system and leach lines (currently waiting on inspection from Department of Environmental Health before we backfill)

This coming week’s activities include:

  • Once we obtain an inspection from DER (inspection scheduled for Monday) we will backfill the Septic System and leach lines

  • Remove and replace Modesto Irrigation lateral. (We will temporarily the re-route barbed wire fence at the south side of property during this process. Once complete, we will replace as it was.)

  • We will begin the installation of the French Drain System

Summary:

We’ve met with Cal Trans, MID Irrigation department, MID Electrical department and currently have no issues or potential delays at this point. We’ve also made contact with the neighbor just to the West of the project and he’s happy to see the project progressing. We’ve been unsuccessful in making contact with the owner of the property on the South side of the project (Trucking Company). We’ve left numerous messages on his phone as well as his home with no success. Hope we don’t have an issue with re-routing the fence. We may need some help with contacting him.
