What We Offer
We provide children, youth, young adults, and adults an opportunity to explore, reflect, and learn in a nurturing spiritual community. Unitarian Universalist religious education programs offer all ages, inspiring:
- Ethical growth – internalizing enduring values like justice, equity, and compassion, and gaining tools to act on them in everyday life.
- Social growth – connecting with peers and people of all ages on a deeper level. Finding acceptance among people who see beyond the superficial.
- Spiritual growth – feeling a connection with the sacred within, among, and beyond us.
This year our K-2 Group is using the curriculum Backyard to the Universe: Dr. Seuss and UUs. At the core of our UU community are our seven Principles. Through the use of storytelling by Dr. Seuss, participants will use life situations and experiences to learn how to create dialog; each participant listens to others, contributes, and hears new perspective. There is no wrong viewpoint. Our 3-5 and 6+ groups are using the Let the Force Be With You: Junior Jedi Academy. The Jedi believe in the “Living Force,” a spiritual presence that surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds all the matter in the universe together, much like UUs. This program is designed to bring spiritual and ethical lessons from Star Wars into the UU Faith with the emphasis on colors and the UU Principles.
Our Religious Education (RE) Director and Minister lead many of our congregations’ programs. Parents and other members of the congregation often lead them, too. Teaching can be a very fulfilling way to deepen one’s own faith.
Children’s religious education programs are offered on Sunday mornings during the 10:30 service.
We invite you to explore these pages and contact our RE Director to get connected.
